Cooper

When I referred to “the love of my life” anyone who knows me, knew I was talking about Cooper! We brought him home from LHS as a pup in June 2009. He grew up with my two kids and got me through sending them both off to college, he was my rock! He crossed that rainbow bridge January 9, 2023 and we miss him terribly!!

Shadow

Shadow (3/14/05-1/16/23) came into my life as an adorable ten week old kitten, and I fell in love with him right away. I originally named him Shadow because of his markings. I thought that it looked like he had shadowing all over his fur. Little did I know that his name would become more fitting for an entirely different reason. Very shortly after I got him home, he literally became my "shadow", always following me and near me when I was home. He loved to cuddle and had to be touching you when cuddling. He loved making friends with all visitors, two legged and four legged alike. Shadow was absolute pure and complete love. I feel so blessed to have had him in my life and to have had the opportunity to be his "Mommy". I will always miss my special, beautiful fur baby boy.

Abbey

Abbey was a stray that I found in my bushes in the summer of 2006. She was such a tiny kitty that grew up to be a beautiful girl. Abbey was such a lovable kitty and would often want to sit or lay next to me, as I would pet her and tell her she was such a good girl. I loved her very much, and she will truly be missed.

George came to our family in November 2010. He was suppose to be a guard dog at a junk yard in reading Michigan. My 3 boys met him on the floor at the junk yard he crawled all over them , he came home with us he was one of the boys, not a guard dog. George is known around town at all the drive thru they would give him treats. On our walks in Herrick park people came out to give him treats also! Our friendly overweight boxer everyone loved. He will be missed. George 2010-Sept 20,2021

Bodhi

Bodhi was a long-time loved and loving companion for Joel and Cathy (and her two littermate sisters) for almost 17 years. Just recently we started taking her for walks outside. She loved to explore and then find a nice sunny spot to relax in. She would snuggle on my shoulder, even while I was trying to read, and would finally sleep there until she decided it was time to play or eat or get some loving. We have only lived in Michigan for her last 5 years, but the staff at Companion treated her (and us) as if we had always been family.

Toby

I have been trying to write this message for a while now. Toby was my talker and it has been painfully quiet around here without her. I think I will always miss her, and I know dad and her brothers and sister kitties are missing her too. The warm weather would have drawn her to the back porch to bask in the sun. I still see her there in my mind's eye. I wasn't ready to say good-bye, but I know she is waiting for me on the other side. I will see you again sweet Toby. November 2009-April 2021

Butterscotch

Butterscotch adopted us in June, 2000. He was limping up to our house and we found that he had a broken leg. Dr. White fixed him and he was happy & active. His favorite thing was for me to take him on walks several times a day. He loved to meet people and large dogs. He had an Alaskan Husky friend that will miss him. He was our little ray of sunshine and his light went out on April 6th. We miss him terribly. March, 2000 - April, 2021

Max

Our sweet boy.... We love you more than you'll ever know. Thank you for always being there for us, for being our best friend, for all of your kisses, and for snuggling up to me every night. I'll never forget how you curled up and fit right around my legs or our mutual love for fruit especially watermelon and apples, and how you would run around the dining room table at full speed. You brought us so much love and laughter. We miss you so much already and when you left you took pieces of our hearts with you. We will always have such a special place in our heart for you Max. We hope you are running your little heart out up there with no fences to hold you back. You were taken from us to soon but God needed you more and has more plans for you, but never forget how much we love you. It's not the same without you, we hope you know how special you are to so many people. We didn't rescue you, you rescued us. Rest In Peace now. We will love you forever Maxwell. ?

Rowdy

When you first meet someone, you don't realize the impact they will have on your life. It's not until time has passed and a relationship is formed that you realize the significance of them in your life. I was about eight years old when I met Rowdy, and I fell in love with him immediately. As time passed, my love for him only grew stronger. He quickly became my rock, my escape, my best friend. If I was ever having a bad day, he made it better. I will never forget the happiness , the laughter, and the comfort he brought me. On the outside, he may have just looked like my dog. However, to me, he was so much more and I will never forget him. You couldn't forget a dog like that. The way he would look at you when he knew you were upset. The way he would lick your face, and just sit by you until you felt better. How he would lower his head and just push into you until you scratched behind his ears. Or the amount of times he would stop by the cabinet holding his favorite treats and just wait for you to grab him one. It's hard to lose someone you love, especially one who had such a positive impact on your life. Not a day has gone by that I don't miss him or wish I would walk in the door and be greeted by him like I used to. The only thing I can do is be grateful for the fourteen years I got to spend with him and hold on to the many amazing memories I made with him . One thing is for certain, I will never forget the joy and happiness he brought me. Rowdy was, and will forever be, my best friend and I will never stop loving him. November 2000-November 2014
